Teaneck is a thriving city located in the the heart of central Bergen County. The population is approximately 40,000 people. Commuting to Manhattan is convenient as it is near major transportation routes, including the NJ Turnpike, Interstate 80 and Route 4. Commuting to New York City by car is easy via the George Washington Bridge in nearby Fort Lee, or through the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels located in Hudson County.
Teaneck has numerous parks, including Overpeck County Park, which is located along the shores of Overpeck Creek and offers more than 8,000 acres of land for residents and visitors alike to enjoy.
Teaneck provides many educational opportunities, and offers both public and private schools. Students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade attend Teaneck Public Schools. There is also one preschool, three lower schools, two middle schools and one high school. Teaneck is also home to the Torah Academy of Bergen County and Ma’ayanot Yeshiva High School, two private Orthodox Jewish schools, and Schechter Regional High School, a conservative Jewish high school. Founded in 1968, the Community School is a private school located in Teaneck that serves bright children with learning and attentional disabilities. Fairleigh Dickinson University is also located within the city of Teaneck.
